Some little sketches....

Here are some sketches I did a while back. The first one is an obvious bit of slapstick based on the notion of the Floating Signifier, a phrase coined by Structuralist and jeans maker, Claude Levi-Strauss. 

Floating signifiers '' represent an undetermined quantity of signification, in itself void of meaning and thus apt to receive any meaning".<sup>(see more here)

 































 

The second is one of my imaginings of the Kantian Noumenal Realm. Philosophical issues aside, I think it's probably a bit like Star Trek, where everyone from the parallel universe has EVIL MOUSTACHES.</sup>
